HOW TO TURN OFF WINDOWS AUTOMATIC UPDATE


This is a very helping feature that comes with the windows operating systems but, the feature seem too expensive to manage sometimes when one has a miniature internet bundle on ground to brows with. Another very popular demerit of the feature is that, it slows down the computer operation during its installation and sometimes, you have to wait a whole while during the computer’s startup just for the update to get properly installed.


Follow the steps below to turn off this character on Windows 7, windows 8, and XP and Vista.


Windows XP

1 Click ‘Start’ of press your windows key andclick‘Run’
2 Type ‘sysdm’ in to the search bar and press enter which will take you to the System Properties Menu.
3 Select ‘Automatic Update’ then select the ‘Turn off Automatic Update’ that will be revealed among the display              options.
4 Now click ‘Ok’ to save the recent changes and your Windows XP is forever out of the overwhelming Automatic Update.


Method 2
1 Make sure the administrative account is been logged in to.
2 Click ‘Start’ and right click ‘My Computer’ and click ‘Properties’
3 Now click ‘Automatic Update’ a tab will be shown, just click ‘Turn off Automatic Updates’ 
4 Now  click ‘Ok’ to finally disable the windows automatic update.

Windows 7 
   
1 Click the start button and select ‘Control Panel’
2 Now type ‘Java’ on the search bar located at the top right of the page and select ‘Java’ when it displays.
3 Wait for few seconds for the java page to display, when it displays, click “update’ that is among the top header         of the page.
4 Now go down and uncheck “Check for Updates Automatically”
5 A page will be displayed with this instruction; ‘’you have chosen to stop automatically checking for updates and will miss future security updates’ , Select  ‘Do not check’
6 Click ‘apply’ and then ‘Ok’

Now you have successfully stopped the automatic update of your windows 7 operating system.


Windows Vista

1  Click the start menu
2  Right click on ‘computer’ and select ‘properties’.
3  On the left pane select ‘windows update’ this will be done        just to launch the update dialog box.
4  Now go down after ‘Action Center’ click’ Windows Update’

5  Click on change settings.
6  Click ‘‘Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them’’  now click on never ‘’Check for    update’’ 
7  Finally click ‘OK’ and the windows automatic update will be disabled.


Windows 8

1 Open the ‘Charms Bar’ on your desktop.
2 Click the ‘settings’ located within the Charms Bar.
3 Click the control panel located towards the top of the Charms   Bar.  
4 The control panel displays in two ways, if it shows all the icons just click ‘Windows Update’ and select ‘Change Settings’. But if the control panel shows fewer icons, just click ‘system and security’ and select ‘Turn automatic updating on or off’.
5 Both methods will lead to the update setting, just select the drop down arrow at the right top of the displayed menu and click ‘never check update’.
6 Click ‘Ok’. Now the automatic update is disabled.
