here is a simple method to hide ur disk drive
>>open control panel
>>go to administrative tools
>>click computer managment
>>now a window will appear
>>click disk managment on the left column now u will see al disk drives
>.suppose u have to hide local disk E
>>right click on local disk E and choose "change drive letter and paths" now a small window will appear showing ur letter"E" click remove and then ok.....
open my computer u will not see local disk E to bring back repeat the abv steps but when u open disk managment the drive that is hidden will b without any letter

>>press add and than ok

command prompt works pretty good too:
ReplyDeleteGo to RUN and type CMD then enter
1. type DISKPART then enter
2. type LIST VOLUME then enter (Here you will see all volumes and their corresponding letters)
Now check the volume you want to hide from the list and
3. type SELECT VOLUME 5 (you can put any number corresponding to the one you intend to hide in a list. 5 to me is an example)
you will get notification that volume 5 is the selected volume.
4. Now, end the process by typing REMOVE LETTER D (Note that To me is D but to you it might be any other letter only mark what has been written on a list)
to unhide the disk Follow step 1 to 3, the type ASSIGN letter D ( D is mine you can put any letter that which is not in a list) enter and you have the disk back!
